Birthday Boy!

March 18.. one of the best days ever!
If Scott wouldn't have been born.. oh boy, what would my life be like?? Not a fun thought.
Well.. where to begin with his birthday... well, let's start with the day before..
St Patrick's Day!
Poor Scott woke up on St. Patty's Day sicker than an irish drunk.. okay, bad joke.. Scotty is not a drinker.. nor was he drunk.. hence him not being a drinker.. anyway, poor Scott woke up so sick, he threw up the prior nights dinner and dessert.. which happened to be a red velvet cupcake.. needless to say, that sent me into a panic.. i thought he was throwing up blood..
TMI? sorry.. it makes for a great story. Anyway, we decided it wasn't the food because i had eaten the same thing for dinner.. so it must just be a flu bug.
After much deliberation, he decided to call in sick.. something he never does. Scott hates to miss work more than anything.. just ask his Mom, she'll tell you about a time she kept him home from school because he was sick.. Scott was madder than a hornet.
needless to say, he slept all day.. and I had to go to work. I felt bad leaving him.. but he really just slept.
I got home to find a makeshift bed in the bathroom.. Scott told me he did that so if he had to throw up again he wouldnt have to walk all the way from our bed to the toilet.. makes total sense.
I made him some soup.. got his some gatorade.. ginger ale (did you know ginger ale has an ingredient.. might be the ginger.. that literally makes your stomach not nauseated.. good to know!) His stomach settled a little bit and he was able to start to keep things down.Man, the Flu sucks! we've only been married 9 months or so.. and we've both had turns hugging the porcelin throne.. ugh!
But on to the happy note.. Scott was feeling much better the morning of his birthday.. but I took advantage of him not leaving our room all night the night before and I decorated the house for his birthday! (my mom used to do this for me and emily when we were little... and i LOVED it!)

But just use your imagination, I had a cute "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" banner hung across our doorway.. and i put crepe paper on the counter.. all twisty design like.. all over the kitchen, one of those little fountain center pieces.. ya know, they look like a firework.. ya those.
It was fun.
We both had to work on his birthday, but then went to dinner that night with our good friends the Palmers and my family. We went to Texas Roadhouse.. probably not the best idea on his weakened state of a stomach, but he seemed to enjoy it

we then went and drove by our hopefullysoontobe house.. (we are under contract with a house).. with my parents and friends.. more on that later..
then headed back to our place for Cake!

We had a great time.
Saturday night we went out with his family to Applebees! (MMmmm, have you tasted their provolone stuffed meatballs? I am a FAN!)
and then went back to our place to open presents and have cake

Scott got spoiled rotten on his birthday! He got a camping mattress.. ya know the ones that self inflate, they look really flat, but they are actually super comfy.. He got a mummy sleeping bag to take when he goes backpacking in the Uinta's.. looking for the big bull!
hmm, he also got a bunch of gold stuff, his sister embroidered him his own golf towel

He had a great time! He is all set for golfing and hunting now.
Happy Birthday Scotty! Hope it was all you wanted.. sorry you started your birthday off a little rough with the flu.. but I am glad you were better by your actual birthday!
You are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I know I fall more in love with you every single day.
