Manti Pageant

The night before we left to Manti, this is how I found our little guy sleeping, haha his poor face is all red from laying on his hands, but it sure was cute!

For one of my Personal Progress Projects I decided to learn how to make curtains for our new trailer
(i still need to post about that beauty... I promise i will!)
Picking out fabric was a challenge for Scott and I - He wanted manly, plain and boring. I wanted bright, pretty, and fun!
so this is what we settled on

It was pretty convenient that our Ward was having Youth Conference down there at the same time! I was so glad I got to spend some time with them and finally see the inside of the Manti Temple!
It is beautiful inside, so quaint and historic. I loved it.
I can't wait to hopefully take my whole family there one day!

We have such a good group of youth!

Sweet Judy, I love this girl so much! We only served in YW together for a few short months (as she moved) but this girl moves mountains guys - she is an amazing person!
Our YW and YM got the hook ups too from here, as Manti is her hometown!

I can't get enough of the beauty of this temple

Back at Camp...
We stayed at Palisades, which is our favorite place to stay for the pageant - always a lot to do there!!

But let's just look how cute our trailer is... don't worry, we are recovering the cushions (I know those aren't cute) but the curtains look good, right?

Scott fishing and pondering life... and squatting so well.

let this little guy enjoy some of the great outdoors

This little guy truly enjoyed his carrots!

We had some pizza at a local pizza shop and then enjoyed the pageant, which was inspiring as always

The next morning (after a very long, not wanting to sleep mr. karter night)
we took him swimming

it was short lived as i think he just wanted to go home...

So we packed up, enjoyed a few more moments with this place that is so special to both of us

snapped some more beautiful pictures

and bid sweet Manti farewell...

...Until next Summer Manti!

Our Angel from Moroni

Thomas Ray Nunley
Obituary
Thomas Ray Nunley
1936 - 2014
Also known as Sr., Big Tom, Tomass, Andrew and self-proclaimed "Angel from Moroni", left this earth at the young age of 77. Born May 5, 1936 to Alfred Lee and Artie J. Nielsen Nunley. Married his sweetheart, Florence Weeks, on October 8, 1956. They raised 6 fabulous children.
Tom loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved his family above all. Anyone who knew Tom will never forget how he would liven up a room with his loud voice, sometimes a few inappropriate jokes and the stories he would tell. He loved the outdoors and would spend many hours putting and puttering around in the yard. He lived for every chance he got to be on the golf course or in the mountains hunting and fishing. He had many stories of "the big ones that got away". Tom and Florence were members of the Alpine Country Club for over 30 years and acquired many great friendships there.
Tom owned and operated 2 successful businesses during his life. Tom Nunley's Trucks and a sheep shearing crew for many years which required a lot of hard work and dedication.
He is survived by his beautiful wife Florence, daughters Debra (Calvin) Peel, Diane (Cary) Nelson, Lisa (Gary) Sorensen, Brenda (Tyler) Page, sons Tom Jr. (Connie) and, Kent (Jenny Halligan), 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, siblings Mary (Eldred) Stephensen, Reed (Evelyn) Nunley and Myrtis Stephensen. Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Christy Kay, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Services will be held at 11:15am on Monday, March 31, 2014 at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South in Sandy. A visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6-8pm and on Monday morning from 10 -11am prior to the graveside services. A celebration of Tom's life will follow the services from 2-5pm at the Alpine Country Club, 4994 Country Club Drive, Highland, UT. . Online condolences welcomed at www.larkincares.com.
We love you. You will forever and always be in our hearts.
Rest in peace until we meet again.
I Love the picture of Karter looking up at him, it's like he is saying "tell me stories Grandpa"

Scott's sweet Grandpa passed away on March 24th. Grandpa Nunley was such a sweet man and always gave such big hugs.
Scott is one of only two Grandson's to carry on the Nunley name and Karter is the only Great Grandson that will carry on his name. We couldn't be more proud and we feel so blessed that Karter was able to spend time with him and at least "know" his Great Grandpa a little.

We will miss him so much! Until we meet again!!
