Manti Pageant

The night before we left to Manti, this is how I found our little guy sleeping, haha his poor face is all red from laying on his hands, but it sure was cute!

For one of my Personal Progress Projects I decided to learn how to make curtains for our new trailer
(i still need to post about that beauty... I promise i will!)
Picking out fabric was a challenge for Scott and I - He wanted manly, plain and boring. I wanted bright, pretty, and fun!
so this is what we settled on

It was pretty convenient that our Ward was having Youth Conference down there at the same time! I was so glad I got to spend some time with them and finally see the inside of the Manti Temple!
It is beautiful inside, so quaint and historic. I loved it.
I can't wait to hopefully take my whole family there one day!

We have such a good group of youth!

Sweet Judy, I love this girl so much! We only served in YW together for a few short months (as she moved) but this girl moves mountains guys - she is an amazing person!
Our YW and YM got the hook ups too from here, as Manti is her hometown!

I can't get enough of the beauty of this temple

Back at Camp...
We stayed at Palisades, which is our favorite place to stay for the pageant - always a lot to do there!!

But let's just look how cute our trailer is... don't worry, we are recovering the cushions (I know those aren't cute) but the curtains look good, right?

Scott fishing and pondering life... and squatting so well.

let this little guy enjoy some of the great outdoors

This little guy truly enjoyed his carrots!

We had some pizza at a local pizza shop and then enjoyed the pageant, which was inspiring as always

The next morning (after a very long, not wanting to sleep mr. karter night)
we took him swimming

it was short lived as i think he just wanted to go home...

So we packed up, enjoyed a few more moments with this place that is so special to both of us

snapped some more beautiful pictures

and bid sweet Manti farewell...

...Until next Summer Manti!

8 Months

This sweet baby turned 8 months on June 19th - right before we headed down to our annual trip to Manti for the Pageant.
  • at 8 months, Karter learned to truly crawl, we were so glad this didn't happen in Disneyland, because once he learned to crawl, he no longer wants to be in one place... he has so much to explore and now has a method of transportation.
  • He is still sleeping through the night, but it very particular about his bed time. if we put him to bed too late or if we are not at home (like Disneyland... or Camping...) he doesn't do well. he wakes up in the middle of the night screaming.
  • He eats his baby food like a champ, though we are still taking it easy on fruit because his tummy really doesn't like all the sugar in it, but he loves his veggies!
  • Karter has really taking a love for balls, anything round is a ball to him. We have this little tykes basketball hoop and when he hears the ball go in the basket, he will crawl from one end of the room to the other to play with it
  • he has mastered crawling, honestly had it figured out to a T in one day. he also figured out how to go from sitting to crawling like a pro as well
  • his very first tooth came in!! it was his bottom right front tooth. he took teething like a champ!

California Beach Day

One of the Highlights of our trip was taking Karter to the beach for the first time!
We were unsure how he would like the sand and water, but this kid is definitely a Hall - he loves the beach, just like his Grandparents!
Gotta keep that little bald head protected^^^
but sometimes it's cute to look at

He loved he sand - he ate handfuls of it and just played for quite a while!

Dad took him out for a dip in the cold Pacific, but he didn't seem to mind, in fact he kicked and splashed and giggled!

haha, see all that sand?

Sure do love these boys of mine!
haha, after we woke him from his nap to go home
this is real life people :)

We let him nap on the car ride back, we all showered up and headed to Downtown Disney for Dinner and Shopping
Those little glow bracelets were life savers, he loved just staring at them!

Scott totally creeped on me in the store wearing the beard hat - I had no idea it was him, totally scared me. He honestly wanted the hat on the right, but i vetoed it!
He wanted to bring this one back for his friend Jeff, but I had his wife's back and said no. haha

and to end.. this my friends is called "worrying about your Son getting burnt and forgetting about your own sunscreen" I blame the weird patches on holding Karter and getting his super duper SPF on me in random places. awesome right?

Cali Pool Day

We scheduled a couple breather days in between all the disney maddness, and this is how Karter enjoyed his days (let's be honest, Scott loved it too!)

Once he woke up though, it was game on
Check out his adorable flip flops. Mom was a much bigger fan of them than he was though.

We took him swimming for the "first" time and he loved it!

He really like the chew on the toy attached to his boat

Swimming totally wore him out, but we loved it!

This is how the little stinker slept every night, haha - doesn't look comfy, but he didn't seem to mind. This kid knows how to sleep that's for sure
