Last weekend we went Camping with some of our closest friends... our "group" haha! Blaine & Nicole, Nate & Madi, Michael & Natalie, Jon & Kari, Rachael, Chuck, Jason, Devin, and Us! We went to Blaine's Grandparent's property, which is located somewhere between Price and Duschene. We had a few "incidents" along the way, but never the less, we had a blast!
We were planning to leave early friday morning, Scott and I just got new fishing poles, and we were planning to go fishing at Schofield Resevoir, but you know us, we slept in, we ended up not going fishing and actually leaving later than everyone else. go figure. whats new? We had a good time driving, we saw a Moose's bum, but thats about all the wildlife we saw on the way. We got to the bottom of the Mountain, and Nate & Madi called us, told us it had been raining so bad and that they had to ditch their trailer half way up because it was so muddy they couldn't make it. Well Scott being the Superman he is, decided we COULD make it up there... (rolls eyes), not to mention we were towing up an enclosed trailer with 3 hunting 4-wheelers in it, along with ammo and other things. AKA a heavy trailer. We got going up the mountain, most of the mud had dried, we were going pretty good til we hit a patch of rocks, the trailer was bouncing pretty good... Bounce, Bounce, Bounce, PFFFTTTTTT! Pop goes the trailer tire. We couldn't believe it! These were narrow, dirt roads, with no where to turn around.. We didn't know what to do, oh, and to top it off, we didn't have a spare, and Scott's truck overheated. Needless to say, Scott was totally stressed, but me, I was sorta excited, this was my first flat tire!!! I've never had one before! :)
Now this doesn't look that bad, but within about 20mins, it was completely flat :( Scott's poor rim took a pretty good beating too!
also, disregard what I said about the mud, it was wet enough to add atleast two inches on the bottom of my flip flops, not fun to try and walk.
We finally came up with a plan to back it down the road about 100 yards and park it in front of another trailer, we were hoping the owner didn't come up this weekend, but we left a note just in case. We unloaded the four wheelers, drove everything up to camp and had the next group bring us up a spare. We were totally peachy after that!
We got up to camp and started to set up tents, really no words describe setting up tents with all of us. Such an innocent thing as pitching a tent can be turned into such a dirty conversation in a matter of seconds. entertaining none the less.
Sword fight... imagine that scene off of Meet the Parents, where they talk about how girls dream about their weddings and how boys dream about their weddings. haha Madi's was the longest.
The tent was a little harder to set up than we thought it would be...
Success at last! Now off to go shooting!
We got all the guns ready to go and we headed off to the Gulley for some shooting, it was a great time!
Now the big hit of the night wasn't the shooting, it was Rachael's amazing meat she brought... Mmmm TriTip! It was the best Steak I've ever eaten, it was a big hit with everyone! We finished off our delicious dinner and went on a hunt for the little critter that was making noise in the wood box the whole time we were eating, sure enough it was a super cute little mouse! We named him Marty.
This is Chuck saying "guys, there's something in there", they searched high and low, only to find him inside, cute little Marty
In the suspense of searching for this cute little guy, we heard this loud noise behind us, and we look back to see Madi falling out of her Chair in total slow motion... Oh Madi, we love you, especially when you have a case of the giggles like you did that night! ♥
The chair totally folded around her, we all just stood there laughing, how nice are we? Then someone said "take a picture" so i did... lol she was okay, it was dang funny though.
sadly there was a drink in the cup holder...
The next day everyone else came up and the games were on, we did lots of shooting... Paintball, Shotgun, 22's, it was a blast!
The boys were in heaven in their Camo and Paintball guns! Me and Madi decided to stay back with the cute prego girls and play some cards.. (have you seen the welt's paintballs leave?? I'll pass thanks!)
I have never seen Scott so excited to do something! He couldn't stop talking about going paintballing! I guess he's always wanted to, but never had anyone to go with. So sure enough we were off to the pawn shop (actually a great place for deals...) to get a paintball gun! he shot it (without paintballs) in our house a few times, it was so loud, I think our landlords just hate us... we shot guns in the house, set off the fire alarm when we cook dinner at 10pm, anyway, back to paintballing, I think Scott had a blast!! :)
We did a little more shooting, Shotguns this time, got a ton of rain dumped on us, saw the aftermath of "Grandpa Chuck"eatin it in the mud, then had our tinfoil dinners.
Now before we started Shooting, Blaine was kind enough to give us a lecture and tips on gun safety, I was glad he did, for our first time gun users, but its Blaine, its hard to take him seriously...
I look over at the boys loading up ammo, and this is how I saw Blaine... he totally did a cowboy draw with it on some poor squirrel across the gulley, I don't think it had a chance
Grandpa Chuck brought his barca-lounger from home to go camping, and watch people shoot. lol only thing he is missing is his Harry Potter book, and in this picture its about Tminus 90mins from destruction due to rain.
The 3 cute Mommies to be, even though you can only see the back of Natalie's head, its the thought that counts!
Nicole, 32 Weeks Pregnant, doesn't she look fabulous? She's super mom with a shotgun and all!
Some shooting before the rain downpoured...
Poor Chuck, the Mud got the best of him.
He was running back to save his Harry Potter book, it was too late :(
We went back to shooting and had a blast. even though all the girl's hair were all messy, yes, we care even though we are camping... lol
I shot a shotgun for the first time of this trip! (the picture above is a 22) It was awesome, but it totally hurt! Scott was sweet enough to stand behind me and hold my shoulder in place and was nice enough to have me shoot a 20gage. I even broke a clay pigeon... Ya, I'm that good! :)
We had such a goodtime, We have the best friends, and we never have a dull moment! We Love You All!
Thanks for a great trip, we hope it continues every year! :)
Everyone!
(Scott, Jason, and Devin are in the back.. I promise.)
